Donut3D can try to get close to a requested colour, but exact colour matching is not guaranteed. Filament colours vary by brand and batch, and screen colours do not always match real filament.
Archives: FAQs
Do you offer rainbow, silk or special filament?
Special filaments such as rainbow, silk, sparkle or glow-style materials may be available from time to time. Availability depends on stock and the suitability of the filament for the product being printed.
Can I choose multiple colours?
Some items can be printed in multiple colours, while others are best printed in a single colour. The product page will show the available options. More complex colour changes may increase print time or cost.
What colours are available?
Available colours depend on the filament currently in stock. Common colours may be listed on product pages, and special colours can often be requested. If a colour is not in stock, ordering it may delay production.
Are the colours exactly the same as the photos?
Not always. Photos are taken under specific lighting, and colours can look different on different screens. Filament batches can also vary slightly. Donut3D will try to keep colours close to the photos or selected options.
Can 3D printed items handle heat?
PLA and many common 3D printing materials can soften or warp in heat. Do not leave items in a hot car, near heaters, in direct sun for long periods, or in a dishwasher. Heat resistance will vary by material and product design.
Are 3D printed items waterproof?
Most 3D printed items are not fully waterproof unless specifically designed and tested for that use. They may handle light moisture, but they should not usually be soaked, placed in a dishwasher or used for holding liquids unless the product states it is suitable.
Are small imperfections normal?
Minor surface marks, seam lines, tiny blobs, slight colour variation or support contact marks can occur with 3D printed items. Donut3D checks prints before sending them and will not knowingly send items with major defects.
Will my 3D printed item have layer lines?
Yes. Layer lines are a normal part of the 3D printing process. Donut3D aims for clean, good-quality prints, but 3D printed products are not the same as injection-moulded plastic and may show visible layer lines.
What material are the products made from?
Most Donut3D items are printed in PLA or similar 3D printing filament unless the product page states otherwise. PLA is a common plant-based plastic used for decorative, hobby and functional 3D printed items.
